In 1992 AFTRS held a unique master class, The Cinematographers’ Forum, an original concept of Josef Demian, Head of Cinematography. Six of the biggest cinematographers of the time were invited, paired together two by two, were given the same script and set in two parallel studios. They had the opportunity to create in their unique style the mood and lighting to the scene directed by Demian.

Don McAlpine ( Patriot Games, Breaker Morant and My Brilliant Career )  (Australia) and Denis Lenoir ( Monsieur Hire, Clear and Present Danger and Mrs. Doubtfire ) (USA)

Dutch cinematographer Robby Müller (Paris Texas, Repo Man, To Live and Die in L.A.) and his British colleague Peter James (Rich in Love, Driving Miss Daisy, Shot Alive)

Allan Daviau ( E.T., The Color Purple, Empire Of The Sun )  (USA) and Sacha Vierny ( Hiroshima mon Amour; The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, Prosperos  Books ) (France)
